Cherry Servers: Let’s Democratize Cloud Together
Published on Mar 31, 2026 Updated on Apr 8, 2026

Cloud was meant to simplify things.

Instead, somewhere along the way, it became something developers had to fight against. Complex pricing models, rigid environments and platform lock-ins that quietly take control away from the very people building on them.

Cherry Servers was built as a response to that shift. Not as a reaction to trends, but as a continuation of something that started over two decades ago.

#From a Student Project to a Global Infrastructure Provider

Back in 2001, Cherry Servers didn’t exist yet, at least not by that name. It was just a few ambitious college students set out to build their own IT business.

“We were a small group of engineers experimenting with computers, hosting, and software, trying to find our place in a rapidly evolving industry. Like many early tech companies, the path wasn’t linear. There were different services, different directions, and a lot of learning along the way.” Marius Žalinauskas, Co-Founder and CTO at Cherry Servers

There was no clear blueprint. In the early days, the company experimented with everything from website hosting to desktop application development. It wasn’t about finding the perfect niche right away. It was about learning, testing, and building experience from the ground up.

That period of exploration became the foundation of everything that followed. As the years passed, one thing became clear: infrastructure was where they could create the most value.

In 2008, the company made a defining decision to step away from side ventures and go all-in on hosting. It wasn’t just a shift in focus, but a commitment.

By concentrating entirely on infrastructure, the team was able to move faster, improve services more consistently, and deliver a better experience to customers. Growth followed naturally.

What stayed consistent, however, was the mindset: build things properly, understand the technology deeply. Most importantly, put people first and support customers like partners.

Years later, that decision still defines who we are.

#Growing Without Losing Direction

As the company evolved into Baltic Servers and later Cherry Servers, the ambition grew, but our philosophy didn’t change. There was no outside funding pushing for shortcuts or rapid expansion at any cost. Growth came from reinvesting in the product, in the team, and in the customers.

That’s why, even today, Cherry Servers feels different.

It’s a company that has grown steadily and deliberately, making sure we grow sustainably. We are proving that you don’t need to compromise quality to scale.

#A Different Approach to Cloud

The cloud industry has largely moved toward abstraction. It tends to be all about hiding the complexity of it and limiting control for companies. What’s more, not packaging infrastructure into predefined boxes.

For some, that works. For others, especially developers building performance-sensitive systems, it tends to create friction instead. Cherry Servers took a different approach.

Instead of asking developers to adapt to the platform, the platform adapts to them. The idea is simple: give people the tools, the flexibility and control, as well as the transparency they need to build things their way.

Because infrastructure shouldn’t be a constraint. It should be an enabler.

#What We Do Today

Today, Cherry Servers provides high-performance bare metal and cloud infrastructure for teams that can’t afford to compromise on performance, cost, or reliability.

Our customers are typically founders, CTOs, and developers running production workloads from blockchain nodes and real-time workloads to data-heavy applications, where every millisecond and every dollar matters.

Instead of locking you into predefined environments, we give you full control to build infrastructure around your exact needs. You can customize server configurations, scale resources as you grow, and optimize costs with transparent pricing and generous bandwidth — all without sacrificing performance.

At the same time, we understand that infrastructure is not just about hardware. When something breaks or needs to scale fast, you need real support, and not to be a ticket queue. That’s why 24/7 live human support from technical experts remains a core part of our offering, helping you maintain uptime, solve issues quickly, and move forward with confidence.

Whether you’re optimizing costs, improving performance, or building for high availability, Cherry Servers is designed to give you the flexibility and reliability you need without the complexity of traditional cloud platforms.

#Support That Actually Means Something

One of the earliest things you’d notice if you looked at our old website is how prominently customer support was featured. That wasn’t accidental.

From the very beginning, supporting our customers wasn’t treated as a cost center or a fallback option. Providing top customer service was the core of the business. The belief was simple: if someone trusts you with their infrastructure, you show up when it matters, and that hasn’t changed since.

Today, that same mindset lives on in a different form, but with the same intent. Real people, real conversations, and a genuine effort to understand what customers are trying to build. It shouldn’t be just about solving issues, but helping move things forward.

#What “Cherry on Top” Really Means

The name Cherry Servers came later, but the idea behind it had been there from the start.

“Cherry on top” isn’t about adding something extra for the sake of it. It’s about caring enough to go a step further: to refine, to improve, and to make sure the experience feels complete.

Sometimes that means better performance. Sometimes it means clearer pricing. Sometimes it’s just having someone on the other side who actually understands your problem. It’s not always visible, but it’s always intentional.

#Looking Forward

Today, Cherry Servers operates globally, supporting teams across different industries, from Web3 and streaming to gaming and data-intensive applications.

But in many ways, not much has changed. The same principles still apply: build with intention, stay close to the customer, and don’t overcomplicate what should be simple.

Cloud infrastructure doesn’t have to be restrictive and opaque. And it definitely shouldn’t have to lock you in.

#Let’s Build It Better

We believe infrastructure should be open, flexible, and built around the people who use it. That’s what we’ve been working toward for more than 20 years and what we’ll keep building going forward.

Let’s democratize the cloud, together.
