Introducing VDS Gen2: Up to 70% More Performance

As workloads become more demanding, infrastructure needs to evolve to keep pace. We're excited to announce the launch of VDS Gen2, the next generation of Cherry Servers' Virtual Dedicated Servers.

VDS Gen2 delivers significantly higher performance while maintaining the flexibility and dedicated resources customers expect from our VDS platform.

Initially, VDS Gen2 will be available in our Tokyo, Japan location, with additional regions planned to go live in September.

#Up to 70% Higher Performance

The new generation of VDS servers is built on upgraded infrastructure that provides a substantial increase in compute performance.

Compared to our first-generation VDS platform:

• Around 50% - 70% higher performance
• Performance increased from approximately 800 to 1,400 relative performance units
• Faster application performance for compute-intensive workloads
• Improved overall responsiveness

Whether you're hosting business applications, development environments, or databases, VDS Gen2 provides significantly more processing power without requiring larger plans.

#More Performance, Minimal Price Increase

VDS Gen2 starts at €59/month, just €10 more than the first-generation plans. All existing plan specifications remain the same, including CPU, memory, and storage allocations. The primary improvement is significantly higher available compute performance, delivering better value for demanding workloads.

#Available First in Japan

VDS Gen2 is now available for deployment in our Tokyo Japan data center.

We're already working on expanding the new platform to additional Cherry Servers locations, with planned rollout in the coming months, including:

#Existing VDS Customers

If you're currently running workloads on a first-generation VDS server, you can upgrade to VDS Gen2 at any time. Because the new generation runs on upgraded infrastructure, migrating requires deploying a new VDS Gen2 instance and moving your workloads from your existing server.

Our first-generation VDS plans will continue to be available and remain an excellent choice for customers looking for reliable virtual dedicated servers at an even more affordable price point.
