Dedicated Servers
#What Is a Dedicated Server?
Dedicated servers are powerful, single tenant bare metal servers with cloud-like automation and hardware-level control designed for specialized high-end workloads.
As single tenant machines, these bare metal servers belong to a single owner and operate with no virtualization layer, providing both greater efficiency, and higher levels of security.
As a result, the entire server is dedicated to your workload and doesn’t share resources, rendering it entirely immune to “the noisy neighbor problem”. This means the server’s bandwidth usage, disk input/output (I/O), and CPU processing is controlled by the sole hardware owner.
Cherry Servers offers a range of dedicated server options across operational levels, each divided into core numbers and CPU type. Our servers also come with a range of customizable options.
#What Types of Dedicated Server Does Cherry Servers Offer?
We pride ourselves on the speed and efficiency with which clients can deploy dedicated servers. With instant pre-built servers, you can select one of our curated server solutions to get a fast efficient server online in moments. Meanwhile, Cherry Servers custom servers enable clients to alter and adapt server options to meet their exact needs.
To help you choose more easily, our dedicated servers are divided into groups based on the number of cores. Plans are then denoted by the CPU they have installed. The available ranges are:
- 8 - 16 cores;
- 24 - 32 cores;
- 48 - 128 cores.
#Instant Servers
Cherry Servers instant servers come fully equipped with CPU, storage, and memory tailored to cater to workloads of all levels. Our servers offer CPU models including Intel Gold, AMD Ryzen, AMD EPYC, and AMD Threadripper, and each can be deployed within 10 - 15 minutes, on average.
Select servers have additional configurations to choose from, providing additional depth to your server provisioning experience. To view these options, simply click the layers icon seen in the top right corner of applicable servers, as shown in the image below.
For more information, please visit our Instant Servers page.
#Custom Servers
Once you have identified the CPU model you would like to deploy, you may deploy the server as a custom solution. To do this, select the prebuilt option, then toggle the “customize hardware configuration” option, as shown in the image below.
You will then be able to select RAM and storage that best meet your needs.
Custom servers require direct attention from our technicians, and may take longer to deploy, ranging from 24 - 72 hours, depending on location.
To find out more, please visit our Custom Servers page.
#GPU Servers
For select servers, you may be able to install a graphics processing unit (GPU). Applicable servers indicate GPU as “Optional”. To enable this option, select the prebuilt server, then toggle the “customize hardware configuration” option. You will then be allowed to select which GPU to install in your server configuration, as shown in the image below.
#Data Center Locations
Cherry Servers has data centers located in three continents around the world: Europe, North America, and Asia. Availability depends on the server type and will be listed for each in the deployment menu.
The server regions are as follows:
#Europe
- Lithuania - Siauliai
- The Netherlands - Amsterdam
- Sweden - Stockholm
- Germany - Frankfurt
#North America
- United States of America - Chicago
#Asia
- Singapore
#Operating Systems
All Cherry Servers prebuilt servers come with an operating system (OS) built into the cost. Upon deployment, you may select your desired OS from the following options:
- Ubuntu version 22.04, 24.04 (64bit);
- AlmaLinux version 8, 9, 10 (64 bit);
- Debian version 11, 12, 13 (64 bit);
- VMWare ESXi version 7, 8 (64 bit);
- openSUSE Leap version 15 (64 bit).
In some cases, openSUSE Leap version 15 may not be available.
Cherry Servers also offers Windows OS, however installation is not included in the base server price and will require an additional monthly fee, ranging from €160 - €2560, depending on the server chosen. The available versions are:
- Windows 2022 Datacenter,
- Windows 2019 Datacenter.
If none of these options meet your needs, we offer the ability to install a custom OS.
#Storage
Cherry Servers utilizes non-volatile memory express (NVMe) solid state drives (SSD) across our entire range of dedicated servers. NVMe delivers higher performance, lower latency responsive storage than competing solutions, making it the ideal choice for high-end workloads.
NVMe storage makes full use of multi-core computing and high volume memory to run thousands of parallel command queues, as well as high speed polling, to deliver improved performance for enterprise level computing environments.
#Assigned Bandwidth
Cherry Servers includes bandwidth packages with all dedicated servers, and only takes data egress into account when calculating usage. By default, all servers have a monthly traffic limit of 100TB, with the exception of our Intel Gold 5315Y servers, which have a monthly traffic limit of 30TB, while included speeds range from 3GBps, up to 10GBps, depending on region.
In the event that you exceed your monthly limit, Cherry Servers will automatically issue an invoice for additional traffic at the following rates:
- 0.5 EUR/TB for servers located in Lithuania, the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, and the United States of America;
- 1.69 EUR/TB for servers located in Singapore.
If these monthly allowances don’t meet your needs, you may order additional bandwidth packages for an extra fee. For more information, please visit our dedicated Bandwidth Plans page.
#Features
#Backup Storage
Backup Storage - We offer a dedicated network-attached file storage space with your server package. All dedicated servers are eligible to activate 100GB Backup Storage space free of charge, while additional backup storage can be requested for an extra fee, dependent on the size.
#Elastic Block Storage
Elastic Block Storage (EBS) - A powerful fully managed & secure software-defined data storage based on a pool of shared nothing hard drive disks (HDD). EBS is perfectly suited for use as storage for public and private cloud environments, and much more.
Currently EBS is only available for servers in the Lithuania - Siauliai region, with a limit of 500 IOPS.
#Private VLAN Subnet
Private VLAN Subnet - Create a virtual local area network (VLAN) interface that groups servers within a project to enable private interactions, as if the servers were attached to the same wire.
#Local BGP
Local BGP - Automatically manage your network routing through the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) within a single Cherry Servers region.
#Monitoring
Monitoring - Cherry Servers uses a Sensu agent, which is automatically installed on every pre-built server, to track its CPU, memory, network and disk performance in real-time.
#Out-of-Band Management Console
Out-of-Band Management (OOBM) Console - This tool enables remote server management by transmitting input/output through the internet protocol (IP) using keyboard, video and mouse ports (KVM).
#Server Tags
Server Tagging - Use server tagging to help organize, control, and monitor your cloud resources by marking them in an organizational pattern of your choice.
#Cloud-init Service
Cloud-init Service - A service that allows you fetch user data when provisioning new servers via API.
#How to Order
You can order any of our dedicated servers through the client portal, or via automation with Cherry Servers API.
#Billing
Billing for your Cherry Servers dedicated server can be arranged according to your needs. Payments can be set to either be carried out automatically or manually, according to your preference. We offer the following fixed-term billing options:
- Hourly,
- Monthly,
- Quarterly,
