Cloud ARM VDS
#What Is a Cloud ARM VDS Server?
Cherry Servers Cloud ARM Virtual Dedicated Servers (VDS) are fully optimized, streamlined servers built with ARM-based processors. These servers utilize hardware-level virtualization through kernel-based virtual machine (KVM) hypervisors to provide full isolation and flexibility.
Cloud ARM VDS instances offer high performance with greatly increased power efficiency, making them both cheaper and greener alternatives to other similar VDS server types.
These servers provide dedicated virtual environments with the same single tenant operational and security benefits that bare metal servers offer, using virtualized hardware that is allocated and accessible only to you, thereby circumventing the noisy neighbor problem.
Our Cloud ARM VDS operate with high core density to deliver reliable workloads with predictable core performance levels and high parallelism, perfect for:
- Containerized microservices and other cloud-native applications such as API backends, or web applications using Kubernetes, Docker, or Nomad. Ideal for workloads built with Go, Rust, Node.js, or Python;
- Efficient CI/CD and DevOps automation for building pipelines and infrastructure automation tasks that benefit from high core counts and low power usage. Excellent for teams developing multi-arch (x86 + ARM) software;
- Caching, edge, and real-time processing such as Redis, Memcached, content delivery, telemetry aggregators (e.g., Fluentd), or media transcoding;
- Scalable ARM-Based Databases and Message Queues that may include distributed NoSQL databases (like ScyllaDB or Cassandra), time-series databases (like VictoriaMetrics), and ARM-compatible queues (like NATS or RabbitMQ) in high-density environments.
Below you can find information about the hardware that backs our Cloud ARM VDS, available plans, and our suite of features.
#What Are the Technical Specifications?
Our Cloud ARM VDS virtualize cores, memory, and storage from dedicated CPU processors, RAM and disks. Each tier of server plan employs higher compute and processing power in sequential order. The hardware employed is as follows:
#CPU
AmpereOne
AmpereOne processors allocate one thread per core, meaning that each thread has access to the full resources of the core, generating a more efficient, stable performance, especially in systems that run multiple parallel processes. The power consumption of these CPUs is half that of traditional x84 processor models, making Cloud ARM VDS servers are not just efficient, but are also both an economical and ecological option.
The range of available vCores starts at 1, up to a maximum of 16, depending on the chosen tier.
#Memory
DDR5 3200MHz RAM
Volumes range from 6GB - 72GB, depending on tier.
The volume in the node will always exceed theoretical limits due to the dedicated nature of the RAM allocation.
#Storage
Each of our Cloud ARM VDS configurations is equipped with NVMe storage disks by default, with sizes ranging from 25GB, to 400GB, depending on the tier, and potential for 100,000 IOPS.
#Bandwidth
Cherry Servers includes bandwidth packages with all Cloud ARM VDS, and only takes data egress into account when calculating usage. By default, all servers have speeds of 1GPs, and a monthly traffic limit of 5 - 20TBs, depending on the tier.
Additional bandwidth can be requested for an added fee.
For more information, please visit our Bandwidth Plans page.

#IP Addressing
By default, all VDS instances are deployed with an IPv4 Floating IP address as the primary public IP address. This means the server does not assign a gateway IP address, nor a netmask configuration.
To supplement this, clients can opt to add additional IP addresses. Floating IP - A public IPv4 address that can be instantly moved from one server to another within the same region.
Cherry Servers also invites you to take advantage of our suite of networking and management features to improve your server experience.
#Features
#Backup Storage
Backup Storage - We offer a dedicated network-attached file storage space with your server package. All virtual servers are eligible to activate 50GB of backup storage space free of charge, while additional backup storage can be requested for an extra fee, dependent on the volume.
#VM Backup Recovery
VM Backups - a managed backup service that creates point-in-time copies of your virtual server. These copies are created once per day and are stored on separate infrastructure nodes, ensuring redundancy and isolation from your primary server’s environment. Use VM Backups to recover your server to a prior state in case of data loss or corruption.
You may also customize your VM backup settings to increase the number and frequency of backup copies. Each copy is held for 7 days, and then released to make room for newer versions.
#Private VLAN Subnet
Private VLAN Subnet - Create a virtual local area network (VLAN) interface that groups servers within a project to enable private interactions, as if the servers were attached to the same wire.
#Out-of-band management (OOBM) Console
Out-of-band Management (OOBM) Console - This tool enables remote server management through the Remote Frame Buffer protocol (RFB) to remotely control another computer through a Virtual Network Computing (VNC) graphical desktop-sharing system.
#Server Tags
Server Tagging - Use server tagging to help organize, control, and monitor your cloud resources by marking them in an organizational pattern of your choice.
#Cloud-init Service
Cloud-init - A service that allows you fetch user data when provisioning new servers via API.
#How to Order
You can order any of our virtual servers through the client portal, or via automation with Cherry Servers API.
You can view our available Cloud ARM VDS servers by clicking the “Dedicated Resources” tab under the “Virtual Servers” heading on the deployment page, as shown in the image below.
Cloud ARM VDS servers come with pre-built resource capacity and are deployed by a fully automated provisioning system. Each deployment runs a multi-step server preparation process to ensure you always receive a safe, clean server on demand.
#Deployment Time
All virtual servers are deployed within 3-5 minutes, on average, across all available regions.
#Billing
Billing for your Cherry Servers virtual server can be arranged according to your needs. Payments can be set to either be carried out automatically, or manually, according to your preference. We offer the following fixed-term billing options:
- Hourly,
- Monthly,
- Quarterly,
- Semi-annually,
- Annually.
Alternatively, you may opt to pay for your server on an hourly basis, in which case your solution will continue to run as long as you have enough credit in your Team balance.
