Ubuntu 26.04 LTS (Resolute Raccoon) Available for Virtual Servers #

You can now deploy Ubuntu 26.04 LTS (Resolute Raccoon) on Cherry Servers virtual machines. This release is currently offered as a 26.04bit (Dev Build), giving early adopters the opportunity to start testing and building on the next long-term support (LTS) version ahead of its official launch.

If you're working on performance-sensitive workloads, infrastructure automation, or preparing for future upgrades, you can now deploy Ubuntu 26.04 directly from our platform. While the official release is expected at the end of April, the Dev Build version already provides access to the upcoming improvements and capabilities.

Higher Disk IOPS and Network Speed for VPS and VDS #

We’ve rolled out a performance update that increases both disk and network limits for several server types. These changes are effective as of January 21, 2026, and apply to new server orders or after a server reinstallation. The disk subsystem limits have been raised for both VPS and VDS servers:

  • VPS servers: from 6,000 to 10,000 IOPS
  • VDS servers: from 60,000 to 100,000 IOPS

This update improves disk performance for workloads that rely on frequent read and write operations, especially when working with smaller files or data blocks.

New Automatic Backup Service for Virtual Servers #

We’re excited to announce the launch of our new automatic backup service for Cherry Servers’ Virtual Servers (VPS and VDS), now available in the Lithuania region, with more locations to follow soon.

This new feature gives you full control over your backup schedule and makes it easier than ever to protect your data and recover quickly when needed.

Cherry Servers Launches Cloud ARM VDS in Lithuania #

We’re continuing to grow our Virtual Services portfolio with the launch of new Cloud ARM Virtual Dedicated Server (VDS) plans, now available in our Lithuania (Siauliai) data center. This expansion brings developers more choice, flexibility, and cost-efficiency when deploying workloads on Cherry Servers’ infrastructure.

ARM VDS are virtual dedicated servers powered by ARM processors, designed for efficiency and performance-per-watt. ARM chips are lightweight, scalable, and energy-efficient, making them popular in mobile devices, IoT, and now cloud data centers.

Cherry Servers' Coud ARM VDS is built on top of AmpereONE A192-32X hardware. Now, with ARM-based plans, you can combine VDS benefits with the efficiency and scalability of ARM processors.
