Cherry Servers Launches Local Ubuntu and Debian Mirrors #

As of today, Cherry Servers has rolled out a dedicated local Ubuntu and Debian mirror servers across all our locations for Ubuntu 24, Ubuntu 22, Debian 13, followed by Debian 12. This upgrade is designed to deliver faster, more stable package updates and security patches for all dedicated server users.

Until now, dedicated servers relied on standard public mirrors. While functional, those mirrors were not always geographically close to the servers themselves, which could impact update speed and consistency.

With the new setup, each Cherry Servers location now has its own local mirror. This means your Ubuntu and Debian servers will retrieve packages directly from the same location where they are hosted, reducing latency and improving reliability.

Allnodes Private Network Interconnection (PNI) Live in Frankfurt #

Cherry Servers has established a Private Network Interconnect (PNI) with Allnodes in Frankfurt, delivering ultra-low latency connectivity for customers running blockchain infrastructure across both platforms.

Allnodes is a well-known blockchain infrastructure provider offering managed node hosting and validator services across multiple ecosystems. This interconnect was implemented in direct response to customer requests, reinforcing our commitment to building infrastructure based on real-world use cases and community feedback.

By peering directly with Allnodes, we enable traffic exchange without intermediaries, resulting in faster and more predictable network performance for latency-sensitive blockchain workloads.

With the new direct PNI in Frankfurt, traffic between Cherry Servers and Allnodes now flows over a private, dedicated interconnection rather than traversing public internet routes. This eliminates unnecessary hops, reduces jitter, and improves overall network stability.

Cherry Servers Connects Frankfurt to MegaIX and NTT #

Cherry Servers has strengthened its European network once again: our Frankfurt Point of Presence (PoP) is now connected to both the MegaIX Internet Exchange and NTT, one of the world’s largest Tier-1 IP networks.

MegaIX is a virtual Internet Exchange “as-a-service” embedded in the Megaport global SDN, enabling networks to peer via a shared Layer 2 fabric with carrier-grade route servers, delivering lower latency, improved routing efficiency, and cost-effective connectivity.

These upgrades expand our peering capacity, improve routing efficiency, and enhance network resilience for customers across Europe and beyond.

New Netnod-IX Connection in Stockholm #

Our network engineering team continues to raise the bar! We’re excited to let you know that Cherry Servers is now directly connected to the Netnod Internet Exchange (IX) at our Stockholm Point of Presence (PoP).

Netnod IX serves as a major interconnection hub for the Nordic and Baltic region, providing high-performance, low-latency interconnection services across the Nordic region. It enables networks, ISPs, and content providers to exchange traffic directly, improving routing efficiency, resilience, and overall Internet performance.

This new Netnod connection marks a significant step in strengthening our European network presence, expanding peering capacity, and improving routing efficiency across the Nordic region. By peering directly with Netnod’s diverse ecosystem of networks, Cherry Servers gains faster, more resilient connectivity to key regional and global routes.

NL-IX (Netherlands Internet Exchange) Connection in Amsterdam #

We’re happy to share that Cherry Servers is now connected to the NL-IX (Netherlands Internet Exchange), one of Europe’s leading internet exchanges, at our Amsterdam Point of Presence (PoP) via a 100G port.

This new interconnection with the Netherlands Internet Exchange expands our peering capacity and significantly enhances network performance across Europe, reinforcing our commitment to delivering fast, reliable, and low-latency connectivity for all customers.

By joining NL-IX, one of the largest and most respected Internet Exchanges in Europe, Cherry Servers now benefits from direct peering with hundreds of networks and service providers. This upgrade not only increases our redundancy and routing efficiency but also reduces the number of network hops between users and their data.

NTT Added to Upstreams in Chicago, Amsterdam, and Stockholm #

We’ve now added NTT as a new upstream provider in our Chicago, Amsterdam, and Stockholm Point-of-Presence (PoP), with 100G capacity in each location. This upgrade further strengthens our global backbone, increases resiliency, and provides more headroom for traffic growth in both regions.

NTT is one of the world’s largest Tier 1 network providers. With over 190 countries connected and a reputation for reliability and performance, NTT powers many of the most data-intensive businesses and applications worldwide.

By adding NTT to our upstream mix, Cherry Servers customers directly benefit from one of the fastest, most resilient internet networks available today.

Cherry Servers Joins DoubleZero Network to Enhance Blockchain Connectivity #

We’re proud to announce that Cherry Servers will join the DoubleZero network as one of its official network contributors, becoming a part of a global high-performance network. Our EU-based data centers in Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Lithuania, and Stockholm will be connected to the DoubleZero network, enabling faster and more resilient communication for blockchain workloads.

DoubleZero is a high-performance global network purpose-built for distributed systems. On the public internet, packets take multiple hops before arriving at their destination. With DoubleZero, they move along the most direct path from point A to point B. Powered by independent contributors supplying available bandwidth, the DoubleZero network delivers direct, low-latency routing to boost validator performance enabling faster, fairer participation from anywhere in the world.

Instead of competing with regular traffic, blockchain nodes communicate over dedicated, optimized pathways that provide:

  • Lower latency and jitter;
  • Higher throughput and bandwidth;
  • Better reliability under peak traffic.

Expanding Amsterdam Connectivity with ERA-IX #

Cherry Servers is excited to announce that our Amsterdam data center is now directly connected to two major internet exchanges: ERA-IX and Speed-IX.

This marks a major milestone in our mission to deliver low-latency, high-efficiency cloud infrastructure for customers worldwide — and further strengthens our presence in the Netherlands, one of Europe’s most important interconnection hubs.

Connecting to ERA-IX, one of the largest internet exchanges in the Netherlands, brings us closer to hundreds of networks — from leading cloud platforms to enterprise backbones and content providers. By peering directly at ERA-IX, we’re able to:

  • Reduce latency for traffic exchanged with member networks;
  • Offload traffic from global transit providers, improving routing efficiency;
  • Increase network resilience through diverse, direct paths;
  • Improve inter-validator latency for sensitive workloads like blockchain infrastructure (e.g., Solana validators).
